History
History: Harold was born to a muggle father and Magical mother. His Father was a engineer, and his mother had come from a somewhat known wizarding familiy, working for the ministry. The nature of his mothers family was never hidden from him and they embraced Harold wholy. Even more so when he began to show magical ability at the age of 10, early for most wizards. Floating the cookie jar to a lower shelf to reach and such.
When the time came Harold went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw, ever a bright student, even amongst his housemates he shined brighter than the rest, studying to learn what he could and learning spells well above his year, his teachers regarded him as a prodigy, he paticularly excelled in defense against the dark arts, potions and divination. That being said, people always resent talent they dont have, he got into quite a few scuffles and unapproved duels throughout his schooling, that often landed him in detention. In his last year at Hogwarts he got into a fight with another boy who had said some rather untoward things about his parents and accused him of cheating. Harold ended up sending the boy to the hospital. Unfortunatly, this cost Harold his offer to become an Auror, this lead to an unfortunate occasional dependency on alcohol.
Still, a man of his talents, he did find work in various places, everything from complex charms, to creating remidies for ailments to a couple events that required more combative magic, travelling about. Eventually, after a couple of years, he returned to Hogwarts to apply to be a teacher, to allow him to research what he wished and help other students reach their full potential.

Harold sat quietly in his office, the curved C shaped desk covered in books, papers, quills a few vials of various liquids and a small stack of papers he hadnt looked over yet, those could wait. He scribbled a few more symbols out, and then leaned back looking at the complex paper with its equations and estimations, linguistical fragments to determine the nature of the words needed to cast this spell. It was so simple, yet no one had made it yet, it could be so useful, albiet situationally.
A group of students beyond the slightly open door began arguing and yelling loudly. Students could be joy, but they could also be ow so ANNOYING, and very distracting. He double checked his work one last time and then glanced towards the door, he picked up his wand, the dark brown wood of acacia fitting comfortably in his hand. He gave it a wave in two medium circles, one, two, and then flicked it at the door and said the latin word "Iorum!".
As he said the words and made the motion, a hard line of blue energy whipped forth and wrapped itself around the door handle, he pulled back and the door slammed shut. He smiled and released the spell For a first test that worked really well, he would test the other components of the spell later. For now, He needed a drink
