- Appearance: 5'6, chestnut brown hair, brown eyes, fair complexion, expressive face.
While in her school uniform she is rather particular about appearing neat and tidy; only once classes are finished for the day she may decide to loosen her tie and roll up her sleeves neatly. Otherwise she prefers jeans, warm sweaters or jumpers and soft, breathable fabrics. She tends to wear blue and green, sometimes red. - Notable Markings: Light freckles across tips of cheeks and nose, dimples revealed when she smiles, a small mole under one corner of her mouth.
Personality
- Strengths:

Music Eva was humming tunes before she could talk. Plays violin and sings alto.
Baking Her dad likes to ask her to bake cookies because, “they just turn out better when you make them.”
Crafting: She enjoys creating things with her hands. Cross-stiching, knitting, and sewing. She's sewn hidden pockets into all her uniform skirts.
Perception: Notices details others usually miss, spotting things or people in a crowd, finding things. - Weaknesses:
Guilt: Seems to have an over-active sense of guilt, which can be easily manipulated by those she actually cares about through guilt-tripping.
Melancholic Temperment: Melancholic people are emotionally sensitive, perfectionistic introverts. When her ideal expectation is met with a harsher reality she can become distressed. She is self-deprecating and critical of others.
Low self-esteem: Likely a direct result of her perfectionism, as she is only human and doesn't always meet her own ideals and standards. Also caused by bullying or teasing for being "weirder" than most.
Mornings: Usually has difficulty falling asleep, still awake after others are fast asleep, but no trouble once she's actually asleep. The waking up part is the trouble. Usually still groggy through breakfast and into her first class of the day.
Flying: Eva still struggles with flying brooms due to her fear of heights. She doesn't like going more than a few feet off the ground. - Likes:
Music: Listening to or making, it's important to her.
Cats: Not that she doesn't like dogs, she just prefers cats.
She brings a cat with her to Hogwarts.
Swimming: Not a strong swimming, but she loves being in water. She's thinks it's a terrible shame students aren't allowed to swim in the Black Lake in the warmer months.
Reading: For pleasure, less so for studying. She prefers fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction. She also has a few works of non-fiction in her collection.
Apple Pie: Her favourite dessert as lovingly made by her mom. It's a comfort food; it reminds her of home. - Dislikes:

Bullies: She has been the victim of a handful of bullies. She is quick to back up or defend her friends against bullies more than she ever has for herself.
Obstinacy: Arguing with people who stubbornly refuse to alter their opinion, especially when presented with truth and/or fact. - Personality:
At first Evangeline doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of her house. Many, including herself, have suggested she may have been a better Hufflepuff - patient, kind, and tolerant as she was - than a Slytherin. It's when you get to known her, indeed even as she gets to know herself, that her Slytherin traits shine through. Cunning little ideas, finding quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties, hesitating before acting, so as to weigh all possible outcomes before deciding exactly what should be done. Protective of her loved ones, it's usually when the people she cares about are being harassed that her darker attitudes surface.
A friend once told Eva that people gravitate to her. He explained that one or two people would come to see Eva, and a couple more people would join either to chat with her or the first one or two people. So on, until a small group (roughly ten people) would be gathered around her. Eva didn't think this was out of the ordinary until he went on to say that when she wasn't there the group simply didn't congregate the same way. She wasn't exactly sure what to make of this, but thought it might be a nice thing.
History
- History:
Evangeline was born in Birmingham, England to Andrew Calder, a half-blood Wizard, and Laura Calder, a pure-blood Witch. She had one older sibling, a brother named Matthew. Only Eva is allowed to call him Matty.
Four years later her father had a dream of something terribly dangerous happening in Birmingham and so the family moved to a village in Wiltshire, England.
Eva had a lovely childhood. Her parents wanted to ensure she had a proper education and understanding of the Muggle world so she attended Primary School in the village. To ensure she also had a proper understanding of the Wizarding world, her mother took it upon herself to educate her in those areas.
For the most part, the other children in the village liked her, with the exception of one or two bullies who enjoyed teasing her for her strangeness.
When she received her acceptance letter form Hogwarts she couldn't be more excited. It was where her parents had met and fallen in love, and she had heard many wonderful stories from her older brother who had been on the Gryffindor Quidditch team during his time there. She tried to go into her sorting without bias or expectation, only wishing to be placed where she could do her best, and the hat had cried out SLYTHERIN!
Soon, however, she would regret not trying to influence the Sorting Hat. Many of her house and year bullied and teased her for her Halfbloode heritage, even going so far as to cover her bed and clothes in Stinksap. It seemed fate had the solution for a sad, lonely Slytherin. It was shortly after the Stinksap incident that she was found (despite hiding) crying in a quiet side corridor by a sweet, if slightly odd, Hufflepuff: Pandora Rookwood.
Finally, her father's strange dream from years before made sense when, last November 1974, after a series of bomb attacks, 21 people were killed and 182 were injured in the town of her birth, Birmingham.
